Just realized I didnt even take a picture of Lyla! Darn. We will do a day 3 of school picture instead. Ha. Lyla was resistant at first when I told her we were going to do school because she wanted to play with Barbies but once we got started she really enjoyed it and was asking for more! We started out by reading “Ladybugs and other insects” and “The Butterfly Alphabet Book”. She loved the Butterfly Alphabet book. We talked about our favorite butterflies and it was great for letter recognition as well. After we were done reading we made Footprint Butterflies. Lyla loved it and I think they turned out so cute!
-Paint colors of your choice
-Google Eyes ( optional)
All I did was paint Lyla’s feet and then had her stamp them on the paper. She painted the body, stuck the google eyes on and drew the antennae. Super easy and she was asking to do it again the next day!
Next week is going to be a bug and seed themed week! Lyla saw the books I got at the library and announced that she doesnt like bugs. Hopefully the books will change her mind a bit? Here is what I picked out:
The Very Hungry Caterpillar
Such a classic! I have ALWAYS loved this books. We actually read it yesterday so I know she enjoys this one 🙂
An Apples Life
About the life cycle of apples. Should be interesting!
The Butterfly Alphabet Book
What little girl doesnt love butterflies?
How a seed grows
We just planted a few things so this should be fun!
How to hide a butterfly
More butterfly fun!
One watermelon seed
We all love watermelon!
Cant wait to read all these stories and learn some new things about seeds and bugs! Stay tuned for all of our projects 🙂
Welcome to my blog! I started this blog to document our Homeschooling journey. Cant wait to share all of the fun things we are doing and everything we are learning.
Today I made some sidewalk “paint” and the kids had a great time writing their names on the sidewalk. Abby played with her toys while the big kids painted 🙂
It was such a beautiful day that we enjoyed our lunch outside. Looking forward to summer so we can spend lots more time outdoors.
